Hello, World.

Come explore and learn a little more about me.

Creative

My creativity reaches beyond artwork and into problem solving and solutions. Each project requires a solution that is as unique as it is and I pride myself on how I use my creativity to improve the user experience.

Logical

Using solutions that are sensible but effective for the customer will always be the goal. I operate within the confines of the project but try and exceed expectations. Logic is at the center of everything I do.

Efficient

I value time, both yours and mine, and so I work hard to work in an organized and efficient manner. My code is also efficient; I follow the KISS model of keeping it simple, which helps me stay organized.

ABOUT

Allison Drake Resume

I am a web developer and designer from the Pacific Northwest who likes to take complex problems and turn them into logical and beautiful solutions. Coding is the best kind of challenge because I push myself to be as efficient as possible without sacrificing function or design. I am constantly considering the user in whatever project I am working on and I focus on making sure whatever I work on is of high quality and pleasing to use.

I hold a BA in Humanities with focuses in Anthropology, Art, Music, and Sociology, as well as a Certification in Professional Writing from Washington State University. I have also completed my AAT in Web Development from Clark College in conjunction with the following Microsoft Technology Associate Certifications:

  • MTA 98-364: Database Fundamentals
  • MTA 98-361: Software Development Fundamentals using C#
  • MTA 98-381: Programming using Python
  • MTA 98-383: Programming using HTML and CSS
  • MTA 98-382: Programming using JavaScript

The areas I have experience in include manufacturing, customer service, B2B Sales, eCommerce, marketing, biodiesel production, logistics and shipping, operations, healthcare, and product development. I am currently growing my client base as I prepare for my next adventure, which is teaching CTEC 115: Internet Research and Online Living at Clark College for their Computer Technology department.

In my spare time you might find me in my organic strawbale garden, writing and performing music, working on projects around the home, spending time with my husband and our two cats, or being destroyed in a game of Yahtzee by my niece via Zoom. I donate my time teaching seminars on topics like database normalization or when to consider sex and gender in design, and make reusable cloth masks for people who need them because I believe in taking care of each other however we can.
